Fox News blondeshell:
Welcome to the Dark Ages, Part II. We have slipped into an age of un-enlightenment where you fall in line behind the mob or face the consequences.
I don’t remember the Dark Ages being the Era Of Mob Rule. Of feudal lords certainly and of the Catholic Church’s violent whims but it was hardly a time where the unwashed masses dominated the political and legal landscapes. Just think if that were true though *whistle*. That’s what Kristen is saying.
How ironic that the persecutors this time around are the so-called intellectuals. They claim to be liberal while behaving as anything but. The touchstone of liberalism is tolerance of differing ideas.
Homosexuals should be second-class citizens. Yeah I suppose that’s an idea. Black people shouldn’t sit in my arena. That’s one too. You’ve got me. So I suppose I’m to admit that these thoughts and the geniuses behind them should be left alone, if not lauded for thinking outside the box we call ‘decency.’ But these rules are a bit confusing. Has it always been this way? Have we only protested things that couldn’t be expressed as ideas? Cubist art and such? The sound of silence? What was Vietnam again, a weather pattern?
Yet this mob exists to enforce conformity of thought and to delegitimize any dissent from its sanctioned worldview. Intolerance is its calling card.
Of course Kristen would be the first to tell you that Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man. That’s because tolerance was his calling card. When some racist thug would come at him with a nightstick or a snarling dog he’d always say “Your point of view is entirely legitimate. I wait for your friends and the rest of this good and sensible world to decide which of us is right.” Then he would amble back to his Atlanta home, have himself a good old yawn *ehh-ehh-yyeeeaaaauuuggghhh*, and go to sleep…..ZZZZZ.
