After the horrible news broke that a 22 year-old spree killer in Isla Vista had killed six and wounded a number of others I put up a short post.
If not for the Liberal Whores
…The gunman recorded a video.
…‘College is the time when everyone experiences those things such as sex and fun and pleasure. But in those years I’ve had to rot in loneliness. It’s not fair. You girls have never been attracted to me. I don’t know why you girls aren’t attracted to me. But I will punish you all for it,’ he says in the video, which runs to almost seven minutes.
One thing I know for sure. Conservatives will somehow blame us for this.
The mix of pre-marital sex and violent death would be too good to pass up. Conservatives would jump all over us, call us all sorts of horrible names. We’d hear all sorts of reasons why we were specifically to blame for the things Elliot Rodger did.
I had no idea how very right I would end up being.
Conservative blogger Warner Todd Huston wrote Saturday on the Wizbang blog that the mass shooting – which left seven dead and seven others wounded in Santa Barbara, California – served as “yet another example of how college is fast become a detriment to this country instead of a positive force.”
Higher education – the apocalypse.
“You see, college is not ‘the time when everyone experiences those things such as sex and fun and pleasure,’” Huston wrote. “College is the time to learn, to study, and to prepare yourself for your life as an adult…It isn’t a sexual play land where a guy should expect to act out a porn star fantasy,” he added.
As generations of college kids now know if you’re doing it in your dorm room you aren’t learning in school. The frustrated killer must have been some sort of bona-fide conservative genius. Let’s pity him though for being apparently troubled to hear sex noises all around him during the few waking hours he wasn’t hunkered down at the library.
Huston complained that colleges “reinforce this idiocy with foolish, anti-intellectual classes like ‘porn studies,’ gay ‘studies,’, and other such non-academic nonsense.”
“The colleges also reinforce this moral corruption by allowing gay clubs, lesbian clubs, and celebrations such as ‘sex week,’ sex toy displays, and visits to campus of people in unsavory and sometimes illegal professions,” he said.
It’s interesting to note what Huston rails against as both “anti-intellectual” and “non-academic.” Gay “studies” for example. There’s a major industry populated by his fellow travelers many of them “academic” that is lauded for its obsessive gay “studies.”
The three-fold purpose of this venerated intellectual discipline is to prove that homosexuality is evil, to pretend it can be reversed, and to fleece anyone who thinks either of the first two is remotely true.
This reminds of the Great Doctor George Rekers, co-founder of the Family Research Association and emeritus professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of South Carolina. His decades-old theories on “the positive therapeutic effects of religious conversion for curing transsexualism” and “the positive therapeutic effect of a church ministry to repentant homosexuals” were frequently lauded in right-wing world and cited in court cases.
Hailed and richly rewarded the doctor was until he was discovered returning from a 10-day European vacation with RentBoy, a male prostitute he hired using the website of the same name. I suppose we should be grateful that Dr. George didn’t shoot anyone on his fancy vacation. Not literally.
