For the potshotting benefit of Mr. Romney

scandal lotto, tragedy

Conservatives are making a banquet out of the deaths of Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. For them, this is perhaps the best SCANDAL they’ve had in the Obama years. They’ve got Muslims, dead bodies, terrorism and the same old boring administration acting like its same old self. You throw in a presidential election and that’s a feast, garbage politics-wise. Marc Thiessen in WaPo:

In the weeks since, Washington has been gripped by the unfolding scandals over the Obama administration’s failure to heed warnings of a growing terrorist danger in eastern Libya; its failure to provide additional security requested by U.S. personnel on the ground; and its failure to acknowledge that what happened in Libya was in fact a terrorist attack.

The security was bad, and we’ll soon know how it lapsed. Here come the investigations and such, which is to say reasonable people want to know why and to prevent successful attacks like this in future. But Obama called it terrorism the next day, and the whole administration has been saying it for a while. What a SCANDAL.

Anyway, Thiessen’s apparently drawn the Benghazi straw where he goes full bore at the administration from this angle:

But all this has obscured the more serious scandal: the Obama administration’s utter failure to respond.

It’s today’s grounds (we’re in the dozens by now) for impeaching the President.

It took less than four weeks after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, for the Bush administration to gather intelligence, plan the full-scale invasion of Afghanistan and begin executing Operation Enduring Freedom . .

By contrast, it is now Oct. 11 — four weeks after the attack of Sept. 11, 2012 — and the Obama administration has barely gotten a criminal investigation off the ground.

What crap. I have to point reality out apparently. Nine-Eleven happened on American soil. Within hours, investigators had the names of the individuals involved and knew Al Qaeda sponsored the operation. Afghanistan was their base and the Taliban their supporters, these weren’t mysteries.

Libya though happens to be a non-American country. The particular militia or militias involved aren’t immediately obvious. The relationships between a fledgling Libyan government and the armed groups complicates the ability of American investigators to gather evidence and assemble an analysis.

But Marc is furious we haven’t blown a few compounds sky high by now. If Muslims aren’t dead within a month, something has gone scandalously wrong.

I remember a certain loopy president from the eighties whose poor security practices got 241 American military personnel blown up in Beirut. When did he retaliate? Did it take a day more than 4 weeks? It took forever. Reagan never did hold anyone accountable, legally or otherwise. Unless you count another militia’s bombing of the suspected group’s cleric/advisor, which is hardly the sort of official act Thiessen so badly needs to call off the “scandal.” Abandoning its previously vital national security interests, Ronnie’s America turned tail and fled from Lebanon after the tragic mass killing 29 years ago next week. Without so much as a ‘ptew’ from a single American. But by all means do impeach Obama after waiting through September.

“Sam Bacile” appears to be fraudster Nakoula Basseley Nakoula

*holes, tragedy

Who is Sam Bacile? The man behind the hack film reel portraying Muhammad as a decrepit fool and Muslims as homicidal child molesters and homosexual donkeys? The filmmaker whose “Innocence of Muslims” incensed and inflamed thousands across the Arab world? The man without whom we would not be mourning the death of a courageous American like Chris Stevens?

The Associated Press has apparently found him. It’s a 55 year-old man from Cerritos, California, named Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.

Nakoula denied he directed the film and said he knew the self-described filmmaker, Sam Bacile. But the cell phone number that AP contacted Tuesday to reach the filmmaker who identified himself as Sam Bacile traced to the same address near Los Angeles where AP found Nakoula. Federal court papers said Nakoula’s aliases included Nicola Bacily, Erwin Salameh and others.

Nakoula told the AP that he was a Coptic Christian and said the film’s director supported the concerns of Christian Copts about their treatment by Muslims.

Nakoula denied he had posed as Bacile. During a conversation outside his home, he offered his driver’s license to show his identity but kept his thumb over his middle name, Basseley.

Here’s the case for the connection:

1.) Sam Bacile’s cell phone traces to Nakoula’s address. It’s possible this is an arrangement of billing or that they’re roommates. But then . .

2,) Nakoula’s middle name is “Basseley.” Bacile and Basseley are homonyms.

3.) Nakoula tried to conceal the fact his middle name is essentially “Bacile.” He obscured the name “Basseley” with his thumb when he showed his driver’s license to the AP.

4.) He’s a Coptic Christian. In the film clip, Coptic Christians are victims of Muslims.

5.) He’s a man with multiple aliases, including Nicola Bacily.

6.) He’s a convicted fraudster.

Nakoula, who talked guardedly about his role, pleaded no contest in 2010 to federal bank fraud charges in California and was ordered to pay more than $790,000 in restitution. He was also sentenced to 21 months in federal prison and ordered not to use computers or the Internet for five years without approval from his probation officer. . .

It was “basically a check-kiting scheme,” the prosecutor told the AP. “You try to get the money out of the bank before the bank realizes they are drawn from a fraudulent account. There basically is no money.”

Amy Sterling Casil at PolicyMic is betting the “film” is Nakoula’s latest scam:

The casting notice for the film is viewable online, listing Sam Bassiel, Producer, and Alan Roberts, Director. The trailer’s costume designer lists Abanob Nakoula and Sam Basselley as co-producers. There are many Alan Roberts on IMDb, but none are active directors with anything like this film listed.

Performers and creative crew for the 14-minute film say they were duped. The casting call is for a film called “Desert Warrior,” and the main male character is named “George.” The 80-member cast and crew has told news outlets they performed in an “Arabic Desert adventure film.” They report that the lines they performed were not about Mohammed or Islam. It is obvious from the film trailer that the offensive and bizarre dialog is poorly-dubbed over the original performers.

Whether it’s Nicola Bacily, Sam Bassiel, Sam Basselley, or Sam Bacile, it’s Nakoula.

Meanwhile, protests at the Sana embassy in Yemen have turned violent:

Groups of protesters nearing 1,000 people thick at certain places have circled the US Embassy, creating multiple demonstrations. The demonstrators managed to breach the area past the main gate at the embassy’s main gate, but were stopped at the security perimeter.

“Smoke is rising, they just flooded the security barriers. [There are] no casualties. [There is] shooting. It’s crazy,” a Yemeni official told ABC News.

Libyan ambassador killed in violent protests; Romney calls Obama administration response “disgraceful”

2012 campaign, politics, tragedy

An internet film made by an Israeli American real estate developer from California and promoted by Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones of Florida has sparked violent protests in Egypt and Libya. An attack on the Libyan embassy in Benghazi yesterday killed the US ambassador and three others.

Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was killed Tuesday night when he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff. The protesters, angry over a film that ridiculed Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, were firing gunshots and rocket propelled grenades. All of the officials — three in all — hold senior security positions in Benghazi.

The President condemned the violence.

“I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens,” President Obama said in a statement Tuesday morning. “Right now, the American people have the families of those we lost in our thoughts and prayers. They exemplified America’s commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives.”

In Egypt, protestors climbed the embassy walls in Cairo and tore down the American flag. It was replaced with one exalting Muhammad. Mitt Romney seized upon the mayhem and death to criticize the Obama administration.

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi,” he said. “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

Romney was referring to the Egyptian consulate’s response to the growing controversy before the violence broke out. They “condemn[ed] the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” GOP chairman Reince Priebus similarly attacked the president, albeit personally. Priebus charged that Obama “symapathize[d]“ with the Egyptian rioters.

The Obama campaign shot back, calling the Republican criticism ugly politics:

“We are shocked that, at a time when the United States of America is confronting the tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya, Governor Romney would choose to launch a political attack,” Obama’s campaign press secretary Ben LaBolt said in a statement.

The “movie” that started this mess is essentially anti-Muslim trash. It’s a low-budget green-screen affair that portrays Muhammad as an idiot and his followers as homicidal child-molesting pagans.

The movie, “Innocence of Muslims,” was directed and produced by an Israeli-American real-estate developer who characterized it as a political effort to call attention to the hypocrisies of Islam.

At least some of the movie, when it’s not calling Muslims gay donkeys, is sympathetic to Egyptian Coptics. After clips of it were dubbed into Arabic and redistributed online, the protests began.

Weekend in Anaheim: Cops kill unarmed man, fire upon women and children, then kill another man

controversy, tragedy

It’s been a bad weekend for the residents of Anaheim, California. It’s been a dangerous place to be, even for the women and children. Because the cops there are out of control.

Saturday afternoon, police confronted Manuel Angel Diaz of Santa Ana.

The officers chased Diaz and observed him throwing unidentified objects onto rooftops as he ran, Welter said. What led one of the officers to shoot Diaz remained under investigation Sunday, Welter said. . .

A 17-year-old who lives in the neighborhood said she saw the shooting from about 20 feet away. She said Diaz had his back to the officer and was shot in the buttocks area. Diaz went down on his knees, and she said he was struck by another bullet in the head. The other officer handcuffed Diaz, who by then was on the ground and not moving, she added. . .

Police reportedly tried to buy any video taken by witnesses on their cellphones, residents said.

[Chief of Police] Dunn said he didn’t know whether the allegations were true. He said it was unclear whether it’s against Anaheim Police Department policy to do so, but said that the agency would investigate.

I can’t believe the Chief isn’t aware of this, but buying witnesses’ cell phones is not legitimate police procedure. And running away is no capital crime. An angry crowd gathered around the scene where the killing took place. This is how the police reacted to the tense situation:

. . by firing bean bags and rubber bullets at woman and children, without warning. And attacking them with a police dog. Plenty of Anaheim’s citizens have been bruised and bloodied by their police department this weekend.

On Sunday, Elizabeth Aguilar, 19, displayed a welt on her upper right arm where she said she was hit by a bean bag fired by a police officer at close range.

Aguilar said that when the K-9 dog was released on demonstrators, she was struck by a bean bag after trying to hit the dog as it lunged toward a stroller with a baby inside.

Her father was struck three times by bean bags and had to seek treatment at a hospital, she said.

“I thought (the police) are supposed to warn us if they are about to do something like that to clear the crowd,” Aguilar said. “But they just started shooting at us.

“I used to look up to the police when I was a kid,” she added. “But now I have no respect.”

Now word arrives that the police shot and killed another man. This was yesterday, Sunday. The OC Weekly:

A source is telling OC Weekly five shots were heard as another man was shot by police and believed to be dead. A resident of the neighborhood off of Guinida neighborhood said the shooting happened off of Guinida Lane and Palm Drive. About 200 protesters are on the scene. . .

UPDATE, 2:08 A.M.: Family friends tell the Weekly that the man shot and killed by Anaheim police late Sunday night is Joel Acevedo of Anaheim.

And now this Joel is dead too. One report said he was handcuffed at the time, but that’s unconfirmed. We’ll get details later today. In the meantime, stay clear of Anaheim.

Gunman kills 14 at midnight showing of Batman premiere

tragedy

Terrible news. About 12:30 mountain time this morning, a man dressed in black, wearing a helmet, gas mask and goggles entered a movie theater and began shooting.

Fourteen people are dead and 50 others wounded after a gunman in a suburb outside Denver opened fire during a midnight showing of the Batman movie the “Dark Knight Rises,” the police chief said at a press conference.

The suspect is in custody, Aurora police chief Daniel J. Oates told reporters. “This is a horrific event,” Aurora police chief Daniel J. Oates said during a press conference carried live by local TV stations.

Oates said 10 people were found dead in the theater, and four died at local hospitals.

Denver’s NBC affiliate, 9News, reported that the gunman entered the movie theater minutes after the movie began, released a canister, and witnesses heard a hissing sound and saw smoke. The suspect now in custody was found outside the theater holding a rifle and a handgun.

My mother grew up in Littleton, where the Columbine shooting occurred. Aurora is about 20 miles from there. I remember it well, it’s where some of my wingnut uncles and cousins still live. I don’t know if it helps to hope that the killer was a random looney and not a right-wing ass, but that’s what I’m going with.

Add: The President released a statement.

Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado. Federal and local law enforcement are still responding, and my Administration will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time. We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family. All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers as they confront the loss of family, friends, and neighbors, and we must stand together with them in the challenging hours and days to come.

Add: Though the wingnuts swore the shooter was an Iranian immigrant named Mohammad Alam, he’s actually James Holmes. He lives in Aurora, Colorado.

Wife of executioner/entrepreneur victimized by liberal court system

race, tragedy, wingnuts

After a routinely-fired shitnozzle launched a lucrative enterprise by provoking an unarmed Negro to kick his Pillsbury ass, shooting the teen point blank and then jacking internet dollars from fantasy teamers too cowardly to do the same, a post-modern legal quandary did arise.

How should a stodgy justice system dictate to web entrepreneurs? A man with a vision and a business model is hardly a criminal. He’s just a job creator. And knowing full-well the online sympathy market for nigger-shooters is hardly a reason to arrest him. These people, alive and dead, pose no threat to polite society. So what does it matter how the Zimmermans run their business? There’s no compelling interest for courts to bother with a company’s liquidity.

Prosecutors say the Zimmermans used a rudimentary “code” to discuss the money in recorded jailhouse phone calls — referring to $100,000, for example, as “$100.” At least two of the calls, the state alleges, were made while Shellie Zimmerman and her husband’s sister were at a local credit union making the transactions.

Zimmerman told his wife to “pay off all the bills” with the money, prosecutors said, including an American Express card and a Sam’s Club card. He also instructed her on how to pay his bail.

According to the affidavit, after her husband was released on bond days after the hearing, she transferred more than $85,000 back into his account.

Shellie was supposed to tell them about George’s hundreds of thousands worth of racist donations, but she lied. Understandably, freedom. So they arrested her for perjury. For a time, the Bill Gates and Paul Allen of hip-hop mud-duck target shooting for-reals LLC, a spontaneous venture, were imprisoned yards from each other. The exercise quad and the stoolies pen, to name but two.

Right-wing executioner/entrepreneur Zimmerman ordered back to jail

*holes, killers, tragedy

I suppose if your routinely-fired shitnozzle really wanted to make a buck, there would be better ways to do it than provoking an unarmed 17 year-old to kick your Pillsbury ass, shooting him point blank, and then taking donations from jacked up wingnuts who fap-splap all over your website. Not that I can think of a single one, mind you . .

A Florida judge on Friday revoked the bail for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case, saying he had misled the court about his finances, and ordered him to present himself to the court within 48 hours.

Prosecutors alleged that Zimmerman, 28, hid from the court the fact that he had raised $135,000 on a website he set up before he was granted $150,000 bail on April 20. Judge Kenneth Lester said Zimmerman engaged in a “material falsehood” about his finances.

One hundred thirty-five grand. Jesus. George set up his website on the 9th, so he was making better than $10,000 a day. And he’s made, what, another $400,000 or $500,000 since then. Obviously he doesn’t need to be out of jail, picking up part-time security guard gigs to assist in his defense. Though, for a trip down memory lane, G. Gordon Liddy would pay gloriously for a little felony assplay. It’s a shame the way patriot-lovin’ comes dirt cheap in penitentiary life . .

I can talk Trayvon Martin as long as you can

conservatives, fancy thinkin', tragedy

But what about justice for Zimmerman?
By Lloyd Marcus

I keep thinking of an episode of the 1973 TV show, “Kojak: The Marcus-Nelson Murders.” Homicide detective Kojak suspects that the black teenager . .

. . and with that, the latest volley of Zimmerman lifelines is launched by America’s right-wing. If liberals hate him, he must be pretty terrific. Hell, he was carrying a gun. That’s all you need to know.

We used to hear how everybody should just shut up about this case. Not any more. Back when we were unhinged, when we cared nothing about justice, we were supposed to leave the investigating and such to the authorities. The minute George got arrested, every upstanding citizen turned right into Columbo. Now they can’t leave it alone.

Incidentally, the whole thing ties in nicely with healthcare:

If Obama successfully forces U.S. Supreme Court justices to succumb to his politically correct interpretation of the law and rule Obamacare constitutional, setting such a precedence could mean so-called “white Hispanic” George Zimmerman is toast. It would mean facts, truth and the law are no longer relevant — only what the people/mob want rules the day.

Other than the badly knotted logic, I’d like to point something out. It’s possible that Zimmerman is guilty. Lloyd? Right? Then, if he’s convicted, it’s justice. Isn’t it? Why can’t that be? I mean, good lord. The fact it never occurs to this Marcus guy . .

Racism and George Zimmerman
Has the media learned nothing from the days of the Jim Crow South?
By Thomas Sowell

Whatever the ultimate outcome of the case against George Zimmerman for his shooting of Trayvon Martin, what has happened already is enough to turn the stomach of anyone who believes in either truth or justice . .

My god! Sowell is actually gonna try this. That George is a lot like Emmett Till, isn’t he? Stomachs are turning.

One of the first things presented in the media was a transcript of a conversation between George Zimmerman and a police dispatcher. The last line in most of the transcripts shown on TV was that of the police dispatcher telling Zimmerman not to continue following Trayvon Martin . .

Only later did I see a transcript of that conversation on the Sean Hannity program that included Zimmerman’s reply to the police dispatcher: “Okay.”

That reply removed the only basis for assuming that Zimmerman did in fact continue to follow Trayvon Martin. At this point, neither I nor the people who assumed that he continued to follow the teenager have any basis in fact for believing that he did or didn’t.

Wrong. This is frankly so disgusting a post, I don’t even want to go on. But, sigh. How about Trayvon’s body being found far from Zimmerman’s car, Thomas? And Trayvon’s girlfriend? She was on her cell with him. She heard him ask “What are you following me for?” She heard Zimmerman’s response: “What are you doing here?” I shouldn’t be gobsmacked by a National Review writer being a bald-faced liar or a goddamned moron, but here I am.

Why was that reply edited out by so many in the media? Because too many people in the media see their role as filtering and slanting the news to fit their own vision of the world.

The nerve of this guy. The nerve of all these people who pretend to be so much smarter than us. They’re going to astronomical lengths to pretend reality is a Stalinist hallucination. For your viewing pleasure, I include pix of these two geniuses, friends. And I do this not because they’re more guilty than any of the other nuts. I do it because it reminds me how messed up conservatism is.

I am of the opinion that politics is mostly driven by the way our brains are organized. A right-wing brain is a sad thing. It struggles to generate empathy. This turns people into rotten assholes and assholes into political operatives.

In reading the words and then seeing the faces of Lloyd and Thomas, we get hit with something like shock. Given the numbers of black men this authoritarian country hunted, enslaved and killed in the past, you would think it would strike them the way Zimmerman went after an unarmed black teen walking all alone. Trayvon hadn’t just ducked out of someone’s window, didn’t have a TV in his arms, wasn’t waving a pistol or kicking over mailboxes or even talking to himself. He was just walking. That’s all. And then he was running to get away from some strange guy with a gun. And then he was shot point blank, dead.

You would think aspects of this story would resonate with one of them, but they don’t. These people are that screwed up.

More from our colorblind white society

attack of the wuss, race, tragedy

I try not to bitch about an idiot’s post more than once. But this Dennis Prager racial kumbaya in the National Review is such a howler:

Still the Least Racist Country in the World
by Dennis Prager | National Review

In light of the tragic killing of black teenager Trayvon Martin — and the manufactured hysteria surrounding it — one thing needs to be stated as clearly and as often as possible: The United States is the least racist and least xenophobic country in the world . .

As I said before, we are aware of all wingnut traditions. Trayvon is dead, and Derbyshire’s an unemployed National Review Klanspundit. And now the Review’s Robert Weissberg, American Renaissance racialist emeritus, has been shitcanned as well. Are we to pretend Prager wasn’t trotted out to cover butts?

It’s too bad Dennis the Handholder couldn’t have held his tongue. After the community harmonizing, he begins lashing the liberals and African Americans. One bunch are politically greedy, and the other are, well, stupid and defective:

The left-wing drumbeat about America as racist is a combination of politics and black memory.

The political aspect is this: The Democrats and the Left both recognize that if blacks cease viewing themselves as victims of racism, the Democratic party can no longer offer itself as black America’s savior.

Hey, Black People: who’s your savior? I’m going to gamble here that they would answer “no one.” Also, “fuck off.” If black folks have a problem, as usual, they take it on themselves. Mind you, yes, we all want friends, and we could all use a little understanding as we go about our lives. But the idea that black america are Penelope tied to the railroad tracks and white people are, what, Dudley Doo-Right? Dennis has barely begun to hurl the insults:

And if only one out of three black Americans ceases to regard to [sic] himself as a victim of racism, and votes accordingly, it will be very difficult for Democrats to win any national election.

Once A Black no longer wrongly, stupidly considers “himself . . a victim of racism,” he votes Republican. This is edifying. Unlike everybody else, blacks just don’t have ‘politics.’ They don’t know or care for issues, like the economy, or taxes, or healthcare. They’re just sort of . . there. And Republicanism is their default functional state, like breathing. Breathing with your mouth.

The other issue is black memory. Apparently, most blacks either cannot or refuse to believe that the vast majority of whites are no longer racists.

. . danger! Dennis Prager . .

Most Americans were hopeful that the election of a black president — thereby making America the first white society in history to choose a black leader — would finally put to rest the myth of a racist America. More than three years later it seems not to have accomplished a thing . .

And the nob gets twisted off. Like most Conservatives, Dennis thinks black people are wrong. Here he writes it’s because they cling to memories. Hey, somebody put the electrodes to this neuro-malady. Maybe that’s what these guys were trying to do, scare the memory-wits out of people?

But pushing Zimmerman and Derbyshire and Weissberg far aside, friends — why not! — one can see, if one squints, very VERY hard, little racism in America. One problem down, but scientists are stumped by this:

. . aliens hacking into Michigan road signs. Geez, that was three days ago, bitter elephants. If you just could loosen your grip on a few historical blunders, Dennis’ utopia awaits our melting pot. Look how close we are to it. We’re “the first white society in history to choose a black leader.”

Right. Any of you spit the coffee reading that? Dennis would write something so gawdawful Wonder Bread. He, like most National Review poltergeists, really does live in a “white society.” But surely he didn’t vote for Barack, so his argument’s pretty much a drug deal.

The gob-slapping comedy here comes when Dennis volunteers the rest of America for “white society.” Myself, I don’t live anywhere near one, I live in Los Angeles. Like San Diego, New Orleans, Miami, Detroit, or Atlanta, it’s full of people of all kinds. Like the 50 states where the first Americans, the Indians, still live. You get my point. Mr. Racehugs couldn’t even account for the colored asses he’s been kissing.

George Zimmerman finally arrested, charged with second degree murder

crime, laws, tragedy

The state of Florida just did what the city of Sanford and Seminole County wouldn’t do: investigate the death of Trayvon Martin, and file charges against his killer, George Zimmerman.

George Zimmerman Arrested for 2nd Degree Murder
Reuters | Wed Apr 11, 2012 11:31pm EDT

George Zimmerman is under arrest, charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, a Florida special prosecutor announced Wednesday.

Angela Corey

Zimmerman, 28, who’s been in hiding since news of Martin’s killing gained worldwide attention, turned himself in on an arrest warrant, called a capias, Special Prosecutor Angela Corey said at a news conference.

“I can tell you we did not come to this decision lightly,” Corey said in remarks broadcast live on TV and online. “We do not prosecute by public pressure or by petition. We prosecute based on the facts in any given case, as well as the laws of the state of Florida.”

I gotta tell you, this feels much better.

I look forward to hearing Zimmerman’s side of the ‘confrontation’ between him and Martin under oath. I fully expect the jury’s bullshit meter to be pegging the dial. I hear that the maximum sentence for second degree murder is life in prison. Good. Meantime, I continue to welcome the sparkling commentary, redolent of Africans!, from you law and order types . .

Dennis Prager swears that Americans love Urkel and Balki

attack of the wuss, I doubt that, race, tragedy

I came across this sorry effort by Dennis Prager to shoehorn brotherhood sunshine up the asses of National Review readers. Like we don’t know what he’s doing. Roy Edroso will tell you, here, how rightbloggers were totally! right on! when NR’s John Derbyshire posted his kamikaze ‘black people’ screed. Now that Derb’s been canned, the adults at Review are sober, glum, taking of stock, re-orienting their horizons, and doing whatever it is geniuses do after one of them dons a monogrammed Klan robe at an Easter party.

Dennis has decided to bring some ‘hey buddies!’ to the gloomfest. He asks: Who’s the nicest, friendliest, race-lovin’est country in the history of all planets? Can you possibly guess? Silly . . it’s America!

In light of the tragic killing of black teenager Trayvon Martin — and the manufactured hysteria surrounding it — one thing needs to be stated as clearly and as often as possible: The United States is the least racist and least xenophobic country in the world. Foreigners of every race, ethnicity, and religion know this.

You see where Dennis is heading. This social ruckus isn’t about George Zimmerman hawking and then reflexively killing a black kid. Derb is no life-long racist who finally flashed us the Brit-cracker full monty. These clashes are merely media spats. And they disappear when you step back to view the proper landscape of America. You can’t spot such ‘racialist’ motes in the panorama that is the kindest, most trusting country that’s ever been.

Don’t believe me? Just listen to all the first-hand accounts of “Foreigners of every race, ethnicity, and religion” that Dennis interviews for the post. Do a little re-orienting of your own, libtards, in the faces of the frequently and heartily embraced huddled masses:

Black Africans know this. That is why so many seek to live in the United States. Decades ago, the number of black Africans who had immigrated . .

Rrright. Now watch:

Members of other races and nationalities know this. Even Muslim and Arab writers have noted that nowhere in the Arab or larger Muslim world does an Arab or any other Muslim have the individual rights . .

Just, hmm. Here they come:

And when any of these people come here, they are accepted as Americans the moment they identify as such. If someone — from anywhere, speaking any language . .

And one, now, from somewhere:

A third-generation Turkish-German, whose German is indistinguishable from the German spoken by an indigenous German, will still be regarded by most Germans as a Turk. The same holds true elsewhere in Europe . .

FROM SOMEWHERE . .

On the other hand, a first-generation Turkish American, who speaks English with a heavy Turkish accent, but who identifies as American, will be regarded . .

Dennis, a human? Please?

Xenophobic? It is probably fair to say that most Americans are xenophiles. Last week, in Tampa, I met a 40-year-old man who works at a cigar lounge and bar.

Whew! Finally, someone to speak to the snuggly immigrant experience. Do tell.

. . I commented on all the good-looking women who entered his establishment, and he told me that despite his low salary, that is precisely the reason he works there. They flock to him, he said.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because of my accent.” He was from Russia.

Suck it, bitches. And they do. So ends Dennis’ evidence for: America greatest furriner and black-lovin’ nation ever Jesus made.

The news, and the Zimmerman family’s offensive

*holes, attack of the wuss, race, tragedy, wingnuts

Well, the Zimmermans are a bunch of assholes. Yes, this is somewhat surprising. It was entirely possible George was an average guy from an average family who simply had a very bad day six weeks ago. Now it looks as if he’s a bad guy from a bad family.

George has been in hiding seemingly from before anyone knew he shot and killed 17 year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida. He finally stepped forward yesterday, if digitally, to start a website called ‘therealgeorgezimmerman.com.’ Carrying an immense American flag and adorned with quotes from the Great Granite Conservative, Edmund Burke, the site screams right-wing ass.

Why is shooting an unarmed teen a political statement? Why is it conservative politics? Why is it American and patriotic? These are questions good people would like to ask of George. Me, I don’t begrudge a guy trying to make a lazy buck. But I doubt he’d be too happy if I shot his brother and then launched a red, white and blue website that quoted Saul Alinsky and begged for the public’s cash.

As if that weren’t appalling enough, some member of the family released a letter (exclusive!) to Tucker Carlson’s Edsel blog, The Daily Caller. In it, George’s loved one asks Eric Holder why he hasn’t arrested the New Black Panthers. After that, he comes to a conclusion: you haven’t and you won’t because you are black.

““I am writing you to ask you why, when the law of the land is crystal clear, is your office not arresting the New Black Panthers for hate crimes?” the family member wrote to Holder . . “These threats are very public. If you haven’t been paying attention just do a Google search and you will find plenty. Since when can a group of people in the United States put a bounty on someone’s head, circulate Wanted posters publicly, and still be walking the streets?” . .

After citing the U.S. Department of Justice’s published definition of a “hate crime,” the Zimmerman family member wrote that there is “no other explanation” for Holder’s failure to authorize arrests of New Black Panther Party members, other than the fact that Holder himself is black.

That’s charming and sincere, isn’t it? Dear Eric Holder: you’re a racist. Here, Tucker, post it for the world to see. Thanks, Eric — signed: victims ‘pleading’ for your help.

If that isn’t a red-ass for you. First, if any of the Zimmermans had googled “New Black Panthers,” they’d know that . .
A.) . . they’re all of a couple whackos . .
B.) . . who are considered to be a hate group by the SPLC . .
C.) . . that put out a ‘bounty’ for the citizen’s arrest, not the head, of George.

Second: It is not a crime, hate or other, to demand someone’s arrest. Third, you Zimmermans appear to be racists:

The family member also criticized members of Congress who have forcefully criticized police for failing to arrest George Zimmerman, as well as “the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, [and] President Barack Obama . . ”

What? No Jackie Robinson? No Harry Belafonte? Just the President, who’s mulatto, the CBC, who are black, and the NAACP, who are colored. And a couple ethnics, a few minorities and some dusky types. Here are the President’s comments, incidentally:

“But, obviously, this is a tragedy. I can only imagine what these parents are going through. And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids. And, you know, I think every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this and that everybody pulls together — federal, state and local — to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened.”

We assume Obama’s repeating the word “tragedy” is what enraged the shooter’s family. By the way: Did you see His Africaness host a movie screening last week at the White House? Guess who’s entirely like that poor guy trapped in Harper Lee’s hopeless predicament? Let the weeping begin for the victims of a country’s racial sins:

Noting President Obama’s White House event last week celebrating the 1960 novel “To Kill a Mockingbird,” Zimmerman’s family member drew a novel comparison to the American literary classic.

“Strangely enough this case has a lot of parallels to those of Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’” the letter to Attorney General Holder read. “George Zimmerman has been treated much like Tom Robinson was, chastised for not being the right (or wrong) color and found guilty based on race factors.”

Southern racism shot and killed an unarmed Tom Robinson. George Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed Martin. They’re like twins, aren’t they? Maybe two of these guys?
